peach plum berry galette

For the past thirty years,
July 1st has been about birthday celebration
and a really delicious dessert including raspberries.
This year I couldn't decide combining
 blueberries or peaches or plums
 and the ever favorite raspberry.
 And so I didn't.
The birthday dessert, with its lip smacking goodness,
 was eaten with great gusto.

Happy Birthday Spark!

refresh

 OK!
This is what I'm sipping right now
 and it cannot be beat,
 for reals.
Tazo Passion Tea (steeped and cooled),
lots of lemon and a little sweetener,
 I use Truvia.
 Plenty of ice,
and the straw is a must.
Don't let the photograph fool you,
these are the big quart size jars
 for all afternoon sipping.

happy weekend!

A thousand words

I like to incorporate photographs
in the children's artwork at beehive.
Last week, we made accordion books,
and filled them with shots taken throughout the week.
We thought it would be a good idea to add
colored pencil drawings to the books.

Iced TEA please

IF I haven't already given this recipe to you,
it is a summertime must.
It's delish and well worth the effort of
squeezing a few lemons and picking some mint.

Dixon Iced Tea

15 - 20 sprigs of mint
10 -12 tea bags
2/3 cup lemon juice (about 6 whole)
1 cup sugar

Mix mint and tea with 4 cups boiling water
In another pot, mix sugar and lemon with 4 cups boiling water.
Let steep at least an hour.
Strain mint and tea into a gallon pitcher.
Add sugar and lemon mixture.
Add 8 cups cold water.
Refrigerate.

This makes a boatload..
approx 16 8 oz. servings.
