BKFST!

I like to make special breakfast on the weekend
and have been oogling over
these tasty ideas from BKFST.
Everything looks so delicious and fresh...
now I'm hungry!

MAGIC BUS

LET'S  just say that if I was going to attend the
5-9yr.old Expanded ART class on Tuesdays
at Beehive, my mom would be dropping me off in this rig.

In fact, I think I can see us jumping around in the back seat!
I can remember the smell of the bus, the great view, our dogs in the back,
getting my finger caught in the door and my mom driving  to the train station.
We loved this bus. My dad, however, was livid it didn't fit in our garage.
Oopsie.

Outside in

I dream about these thistles in January
when I cannot walk around my house due to the huge snow drifts.
My friend Ellen gave them to me from her garden when we first moved here 9 years ago.
They grow in the hot hot sun, next to the tomatoes in the back of the house.
In shades of  blue and purple, they're prickly to touch,
and have a wonderful grape scent.  I love them so much I had to bring them in.

fabric frame photo

We LOVE to create frames at Beehive,
this time around we were working with a wood frame.
I have a huge collection of tie dyed material/scraps
that I just knew I'd be diving into this summer.
I cut the fabric into smallish shapes,
the kids then glued selected pieces on to their frames.
The cherry on top is the colored rice, one of many tidbits
I learned from my friend Susanna .

                                                                      simply beautiful

Slow Club - Two Cousins

I will be loving this all week

The brilliant video for the new single - Two Cousins - taken from their forthcoming new album,
                                                                       out in September.

studio carta

I found Angela's cotton ribbon sampler at a
holiday show and bought
one for myself and one for my friend.
I didn't know what I was going to make or do with this ribbon, I was just crazy about the combination of colorful rolls in the clear packaging.
Recently, I started to make cards with the collection and now...
well.. I just can't stop.
I like to mix up the colors
and sew the pieces onto flat cards.
They remind me of a clothes line,
                                                  simple and beautiful.
For more loveliness in the card, stationary,
ribbon and letterpress world visit Studio Carta.
                                                             Thank you Angela!
