peach plum berry galette

For the past thirty years,
July 1st has been about birthday celebration
and a really delicious dessert including raspberries.
This year I couldn't decide combining
 blueberries or peaches or plums
 and the ever favorite raspberry.
 And so I didn't.
The birthday dessert, with its lip smacking goodness,
 was eaten with great gusto.

Happy Birthday Spark!

refresh

 OK!
This is what I'm sipping right now
 and it cannot be beat,
 for reals.
Tazo Passion Tea (steeped and cooled),
lots of lemon and a little sweetener,
 I use Truvia.
 Plenty of ice,
and the straw is a must.
Don't let the photograph fool you,
these are the big quart size jars
 for all afternoon sipping.

Toadstools

I've been fascinated by the incredible toadstools I've come across the past few weeks. I'm especially keen on the way they shoot right up through the pine needles, moss, bark and fern in their varied shapes, sizes, colors and textures.
I think I'd like to set up shop under one and call it a day.
