Seriously folks.
Maybe a purchase
of one of these gems
and a run through the sprinkler
is all a girl needs today.

I think so.

Mind The Gap

I just found these gems on Pinterest,
starting my Monday off with a big blast of color and inspiration. love.

"Mind The Gap" is a colourway inspired by the London Underground, and features the twelve iconic colours of the Tube map. Socks in "Mind The Gap" are the perfect portable knitting project for your daily commute!
This is a self striping sock yarn, which means it will pattern into bold, colourful stripes as you knit. Each stripe will be five or six rows wide (12mm, half an inch) depending on your gauge and the number of stitches you cast on. The sequence of colours will vary between dye lots, and will not necessarily be in the same order as the sock in the photograph.

Nutscene Garden Twine

My mom gave
me this great garden twine.
She's  given me larger spools
(in a handy can) which I've used in and around the garden throughout the season. There was something about this colorful row of tiddlers I could not share with my tomatoes.
Today, I made a great hand scrub and wrapped it up tight.
Love.

paper collage on wood

We re-worked  these collages for the entire 6 week session..
adding rich layers of color, texture and pattern each time.
We began with handmade papers that I collected,
followed by construction and tissue paper cutouts, and then
printing with a mix of paints.
Stencils, oil pastels, colored pencils
 and sharpies to finish.

PAPER Lanterns

We made these gorgeous paper lanterns last week during All Things Paper.
Three layers (let each layer dry over night)  of white tissue brushed onto a balloon with mostly white glue thinned with water. The last layer we added was a glittered white tissue.
We had 3 ft. dowels (we've used long sticks which I still think is my fav) and wrapped them up with colored tissue strips.

Bakers twine, a needle and some clever stitching secured the lantern to the dowel.

Beautiful, delicate, glowing orbs.. my summertime favorite.
