rikshaw is in the studio

I know I know.. I have emailed, phoned and sent smoke signals near and far spreading the word that rikshaw design is coming to Beehive.
I have just unpacked the
Boho Trunk Show
(bedding, pillows, children & women's clothing
and accessories).
I am completely NUTS
about it all.

studio carta

I found Angela's cotton ribbon sampler at a
holiday show and bought
one for myself and one for my friend.
I didn't know what I was going to make or do with this ribbon, I was just crazy about the combination of colorful rolls in the clear packaging.
Recently, I started to make cards with the collection and now...
well.. I just can't stop.
I like to mix up the colors
and sew the pieces onto flat cards.
They remind me of a clothes line,
                                                  simple and beautiful.
For more loveliness in the card, stationary,
ribbon and letterpress world visit Studio Carta.
                                                             Thank you Angela!

fairy house

This fine idea comes from my hero over at  Made by Joel.
IF you have yet to visit his incredible and creative world you must.. right now.. really!
Many fairy house were created at the studio this spring, here is a glimpse of just a few.
There were flower boxes, door bells, windows with curtains, lampshades, mirrors, fruit baskets, dog beds, rugs, wallpaper ... i just wanted to move in and make myself at home.   THANKS Joel!

save this date!

I simply cannot wait for this!
I have my eye on several pieces,
I hope I can decide between now and then what will suit my fancy.
Please mark your calendars and join me for an evening of
savory treats, refreshing drinks and  rikshaw design .

Oliver Jeffers

I'm thinking that Oliver Jeffers is the most talented painter, illustrator and writer EVER!  His intricate drawings, along with clever collage, painting, interesting bits of text and beautiful story all work together to create the most amazing works of art. Whenever I read either of these books at Beehive, I instantly want to become part of the story and crawl right onto the page.
The Heart and the Bottle and The Incredible Book Eating Boy are in my collection, and if they're not in yours, hop on over to here to shop, peruse, and gasp (like me). You will be glad you did.
