Hudson Valley Seed LIbrary

Christine gave me these seeds for Valentines Day.
The seed packets are little jewel paintings and the packaging is brilliant.
The big sticker on back is removed and the colorful packet unfolds, seeds tucked away inside with seed info and planting instructions.  I just planted some zzzzzinias.
Yay and thanks sister!

Mind The Gap

I just found these gems on Pinterest,
starting my Monday off with a big blast of color and inspiration. love.

"Mind The Gap" is a colourway inspired by the London Underground, and features the twelve iconic colours of the Tube map. Socks in "Mind The Gap" are the perfect portable knitting project for your daily commute!
This is a self striping sock yarn, which means it will pattern into bold, colourful stripes as you knit. Each stripe will be five or six rows wide (12mm, half an inch) depending on your gauge and the number of stitches you cast on. The sequence of colours will vary between dye lots, and will not necessarily be in the same order as the sock in the photograph.

Cookie Day

I'm gearing up for our annual Cookie Day.
My mom, my sister, georgia and myself
get together for two days  of
 pure baking
 flying flour
rolling dough and
 slinging cookies.
We share dozens of cookies that we have each made at home,
and bake strictly sugar cookies together.
Christine and I do most of the rolling and cutting.
Georgia is queen of decorating the cookies.
Mom is happy we are under her roof.
We fill dozens of tins,
drink lots of coffee and laugh a lot.
 It's a sweet tradition.

Checking my pantry for this staple,
my favorite vanilla extract.
Find it at food shops or williams-sonoma

sweets for the sweet

This is easily one of my favorite gifts that I am giving this year.
I cannot take credit for this sweet idea, I found it on pinterest and ran with it.
I come from a long line of ice cream fans and it seemed perfectly perfecto for me.
I whipped up a strong batch of chocolate sauce and found
jars not TOO big ( but BIG enough) to fill.
Added assorted mini candies, gummies and chocolates, waffle bowls and cones.
Packed in a sturdy box and VOILA!
Sundae Box..
JUST ADD ICE CREAM
..YUM!

ART BOXES in the house!

Last week was a good time to get busy
stacking, sorting, snipping and sifting for beehive ART boxes.
Sam created a colorful assembly line that I couldn't resist sharing...the colors, textures, shapes and a whole lot of creative energy! What's inside the ART box is chock full of colored papers and tissues, note cards and matte board, sequins, yarn, ribbons, watercolor paints and glue, felt, pompoms and beads.

No two boxes are exactly alike!
Available at the studio $20.00  Ready to ship $27.00

good goods

My sweet friend Ali came to visit me at the studio last week.
She instantly pulled out this new toy she knew I'd be nuts about...
and boy was she right on.
She picked up this  POP phone handset at the MFA..
So fun and cool, it comes in a variety of colors and fits all mobile devices.
I love these blurry shots I took of Ali because we could not stop laughing.
She loves the reactions she's been getting from folks who see her in passing.
Classic. Thanks Ali, I needed that.  xo
