sweets for the sweet

This is easily one of my favorite gifts that I am giving this year.
I cannot take credit for this sweet idea, I found it on pinterest and ran with it.
I come from a long line of ice cream fans and it seemed perfectly perfecto for me.
I whipped up a strong batch of chocolate sauce and found
jars not TOO big ( but BIG enough) to fill.
Added assorted mini candies, gummies and chocolates, waffle bowls and cones.
Packed in a sturdy box and VOILA!
Sundae Box..
JUST ADD ICE CREAM
..YUM!

Button UP

In the midst of putting finishing touches on pillows for my SHOP
I came across these gems.
Buttons from my Aunt's sewing kit, which is filled to the rim with all
sorts of notions and potions.
I couldn't resist sharing, however, I do not think I will use these quite yet.
I have memories of spilling my Mom's button collection
( a coffee can covered in white contact paper with pink tulips) and spending time sorting the buttons by color and size. It's  fun to grab a handful
and let them slide through your fingers.
Or find them sewn in a tidy row on a vintage card, wrinkled and worn but still intact.

The Red Balloon

IF you do not have this book in your library you most certainly need to giddyup.
Get ONE for yourself and ONE for your friend.
It is a story about a boy, Pascal, who becomes friends with a balloon.
The photographs of their adventures through the streets of Paris (1956) are breathtaking.
