Haven's birds

                     

                        I had the pleasure of working with Haven (7 yrs) 

for one week this summer. I was particularly fond of

 her extraordinary birds.

We have just completed summer ART..

 this past week was especially grand,

 sculptures in all forms, sizes and mediums. 

Will post works soon,

but for now

I need to stick my toes

in a cool body of water 

and exhale.

PAPER Lanterns

We made these gorgeous paper lanterns last week during All Things Paper.
Three layers (let each layer dry over night)  of white tissue brushed onto a balloon with mostly white glue thinned with water. The last layer we added was a glittered white tissue.   
We had 3 ft. dowels (we've used long sticks which I still think is my fav) and wrapped them up with colored tissue strips.


Bakers twine, a needle and some clever stitching secured the lantern to the dowel. 


Beautiful, delicate, glowing orbs.. my summertime favorite.
