Glass Stones on Wood

I'm not the only one who loves
the look and feel of these
 small glass stones on
pastel / painted wood pieces.
We also used crayon shavings
for additional  texture and color.

Nicey.

Today we hosted a tremendous pirate birthday party for our friend Dylan.

Paper Houses

We designed these paper house (lanterns) for an event in Boston last spring.
I have been wanting to make them with the children at Beehive since.
It's a tricky project with precise cutting of dowels and paper,
the Advanced Art Exploration Class ( 9-14 yrs) was a perfect fit.
A sneak peak today of the materials, pattern, and assemblage.
